Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer or Interior Architect with 7-10 years of experience, who will be responsible for leading and managing the design of multiple Design-Build projects simultaneously. Surveying existing building conditions and space, construction documentation in AutoCAD, execution of a full construction drawing set, sourcing and procuring FF&E, and taking a client through the design process to make decisions are the primary focuses of this position. The individual in this role will work directly with the Design Director, Project Manager and report to the Design Director.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Project site surveying and documentation of existing site conditions
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of Construction Drawing Sets:
    • Create, detail, and modify Drawing Set & associated Schedules (FF&E)
    • Create demolition plan, floor plans, reflected ceiling and electrical plans, elevations, sections and details
    • Ensure Drawings and Schedules are coordinated across set
    • Ensure Drawings are coordinated with actual site conditions and updated with site changes and updates from Project Management team.
    • Utilize AutoCAD and 3D Software to create drawings, renderings, etc.
  • Update Sharepoint and server files to communicate to Site Team
  • Source and Procure architectural samples from various vendors and subcontractors
  • Communication with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, specifications, and samples
  • Manage placement of FF&E Orders with vendors and subcontractors
  • Lead or solely manage client presentations
  • Manage creation of client presentations in Adobe InDesign to communicate concepts, design intent and drawings
  • Attend site meetings with Project Management team and or clients
  • Source architectural materials/FF&E to present to Design Director and clients including: stone, tile, wallcovering, paint, plumbing fixtures, door hardware, lighting and appliances
  • Manage timely responses to Project Management team RFIs


  • Sourcing of decorative lighting, furnishings & fabrics
  • Preparation of client design presentations in Adobe InDesign
  • Management of client proposal packages in Studio Designer & responsible for sending packages to clients for review and approval
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, specifications, and samples
  • Oversee procurement and tracking of purchased furnishings & accessories with Design Assistant or Jr. Designer
  • Manage furnishings installations & coordinate deliveries


  • Act as client point person to take client through design process and decision making. Set expectations with schedules, budget and meeting agendas.
  • Manage scheduling, execution and lead client presentations
  • Manage design production schedules and ensure they are in-sync with the construction schedules on his/her/their projects. Maintain project meetings with Design Director to review project status and associated design reviews
  • Source and seek new products and materials that represent our brand to keep our sources fresh and unique
  • Participate in company improvement initiatives and contributes new ideas, technologies or procedures to help our team and company grow and discover more efficient methods
  • Assist in office administrative tasks as needed to help out team and office operations

Preferred Qualifications:

To be considered for this position you will possess the following skills, attributes, and abilities:

  • 7-10 years experience at an Interior Design Firm or Architectural Studio
  • 4 Year Degree at an accredited interior design or architectural program
  • Understanding of technical architecture and ability to draw, coordinate and execute a full drawing set including:
    • Demolition, Floor, Floor Finish, Reflected Ceiling, Electrical Plans
    • Detailed Interior Elevations
    • Construction Details for flooring, walls cabinetry and ceiling details
  • Experience sourcing, specifying and requesting quotes (RFQs) for:
    • Plumbing Fixtures
    • Architectural Lighting
    • Millwork
    • Hardware
    • Wood Flooring
    • Stone & Tile
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
  • Studio Designer Webware/Software experience a plus
  • Willingness to learn and be open for constructive feedback
  • Ability to delegate to and manage Jr. Staff
