Michael Miller serves as the Principal of Centaur Interiors. Michael’s entrepreneurial outlook, technical education, training, experience, architectural & mechanical background make him the ideal leader for all aspects of the firm from Conceptual Design-to Construction Completion.
Involved in every aspect of a project’s pipeline—from creating and presenting project proposals to working with Centaur’s Pre-Construction and Estimating Department—Michael is a master at managing the project schedule, budget, and trades. Michael has been involved in construction collaborations of countless high end residential projects, where he played an integral role in the design, engineering, and most importantly managing the client’s expectations.
Michael graduated from The Universal Technical Institute with specialization in Electrical Application. Receiving numerous awards and honors while at UTI, Michael distinguished himself as a superior student and practitioner. After a ten-year career in engineering & also designing and installing mechanical systems and controls while working side-by-side with all of the trades at construction sites, Michael made the move to large, high-end renovation projects. He currently holds two trade certificates. In 2006 Michael partnered with Centaur Construction where he led the custom residential team. Out of this partnership Centaur Interiors was created in 2009, which specialized on concept to completion turn-key residential renovation. He started a design department and continued to grow the Project Management team to focus on more complex and authentic projects.
In 2015 Michael designed his own showroom/ studio in the design district of River Norther where he could showcase the vision for Centaur Interiors & their collaborative partners. This was an important aspect of his goal to be a top tier innovator and collaborator within the best in the industry and carve out his own niche for the firm. This current home for Centaur Interiors was featured in 2016 Chicago’s coolest offices by Crain’s Chicago.
A talented craftsman with an eye for design and detail, Michael’s passion for cutting-edge architecture is apparent. His profile has been featured in Michigan Ave, Luxe, Men’s Book Chicago and CS Interiors. Always on the go, Michael enjoys traveling to many destinations and has a large passion for art. This led to the collaboration and partnership with Samuel Lynne Galleries which is based in Dallas, and a satellite studio resides within the Centaur Interiors Showroom.
